Spanish & Buenos Aires
Porteños (people of Buenos Aires) are as passionate and multifaceted as their native language, and it is reflected in their daily life, culture, and traditions. Spanish from Argentina is unique from the Spanish spoken in the rest of Latin America; its combination of local vocabulary and slang, plus an influence of Italian pronunciation, is a direct result of its heavy European roots.

Buenos Aires is a city of almost 13 million people, including the surrounding areas, making the traffic hectic, the public transportation full, and the streets buzzing night and day. Saying that, Buenos Aires is still considered the safest capital city in all of Latin America and, if the correct "big-city" precautions are taken, students studying Spanish should leave the capital city completely unscathed and only with fond memories.
