The Course

The Intensive Spanish 30 Course, Argentina, is the most intensive Spanish immersion course available at Expanish. In addition to group classes in the morning, this Spanish immersion course offers an additional two hours of group classes in the afternoon that focus on providing students with practical experience and a focus on writing and speaking in day to day situations. The course is recommended for students who wish to achieve rapid Spanish language development in Argentina.

What to expect

The combination of morning group classes and afternoon classes, give the student an opportunity to learn and interact in a group environment whilst being able to consolidate and put their learning into practice in the afternoon.

Focus through Tasks

The professor will plan assignments and tasks for the student, whilst providing the tools and strategies to complete them. The student will then have to apply their Spanish language skills to complete them.

Practice makes perfect

The best way to learn is by doing. All of the assignments are aimed to help students learn through practice and correction.

Teaching Framework

All of our programs are aligned with and based on the Cervantes Institute. The curriculum and teaching plans are framed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

At the beginning of each week, students will receive details of the academic program including objectives, course content and bibliographies.

Areas for development

Teachers will work to develop the following areas of the students’ Spanish language skills.

• Phonetics – Students will work to improve their pronunciation, diction and intonation enabling them to speak with confidence. Profesors will work on the more complex sounds and sound combinations needed to speak the Spanish language fluently, using graphics, talks, auditions, songs and role plays to ensure varied and interactive lessons
• Conversation – Students will work to develop their fluidity and expression to enable them to communicate their ideas in the most efficient manner. Lessons will be based around every day conversation topics and real situations, with debate and exchange of views encouraged amongst students
• Reading Comprehension – Students will develop their reading and comprehension of Spanish according to their level. Teachers work with a variety of reading materials including newspaper articles, magazines, fiction, brochures, and more to ensure students are able to read and comprehend texts across a variety of different contexts
• Civilization and culture – Students will learn about Latin America’s history and society, as well as focus more specifically on the history and culture of Argentina and Buenos Aires, with the aim of intensifying the students’ cultural immersion. Topics will include: The Gaucho, Mate, Wine, The Tango, Military dictatorship and the Argentina economy. Profesoras will work with a variety of materials including films, songs, images, articles and literature with the aim of providing students with a rapid but effective understanding of the culture of Latin America and Argentina.
• Writing – Students will develop the necessary writing skills to enable them to communicate in a variety of different contexts such as literary, journalistic, and communicative by combining group exercises and individual writing assignments.
